Three hymns were sung prior to business meeting. Pastor James opened with prayer requests and prayer.
Karen Moore made a motion to accept the minutes; Lyle Jones made a second. No discussion. Passed.
Motion by Carol Firestone to accept the Treasurer’s report; second by Vickie Locke. Karen was concerned there was $0 showing in the VBS designation. Was there a vote to have in 2017? Yes, we have $1,200. to spend. Robbin Snyder needs to be notified. Original motion passed.
Committee Reports:
Trustees: Took off the Christmas lights from the church and pizza shack. Also took down the trees and decorations. Got rid of the forklift. We have a new janitor, Vickie Locke. Lyle Jones
Deacons: Met with the preacher three Sunday mornings. Met one time for the monthly meeting. John Stewart resigned in January as deacon for personal reasons. He is currently on inactive status. Lyle Jones
Audio/Visual: We are trying to provide sound reinforcement and songs on the screen for the Sunday morning service. We have begun recording the Sunday morning messages directly onto the computer and uploading to the web site. No activity with the donated laptop and donated desktop. Laptop has missing drivers and won’t connect to the internet yet. Will get to as time permits. John Stewart

Fellowship: No activities this month. Karen Moore
Music: There were five Sundays with music each Sunday morning and evening. Karen Moore
Church Council: Working on history timeline; target March 5th. Reflection dinner March 19th
Floral & Decorating: Took down and put away the Christmas decorations. Also received a thank you from the Riggs family. Carol Firestone
Kitchen: There was no fellowship dinner in January since church was cancelled due to the
weather. Carol Firestone

Youth: No report
Sunday School: 50 were enrolled at the end of January. Average members 10; average visitors 2; average present 12. Darron Locke
Old business:
The church sign is up at Hwy 5 & Fairgrounds Dr. The average church attendance for January was 25.
New business:
Carol mentioned that she needs one more person to share the cost of chicken. Vickie and Darron will donate.
Insurance coverage decreased since we dropped the two busses, but the church insurance went up $582.00 Only had one claim. The umbrella package covers no church members only non- members and the cost is $400.00 a year. We currently have a $500.00 deductible, which isn’t offered anymore, but we can still keep it at $500.00. If we increase our deductible to $2,500.00, we will save $623.00. $1,000.00 deductible would save only $166.00 a year. If we take off the umbrella we would save $400.00. Worker’s Comp will go down since Marc is gone. Lyle Jones made a motion to drop the umbrella and increase the deductible to $2,500. Karen made a second. Passed.
Church Council to determine dates for VBS and Camp.
Pastor nominated Vickie Locke and Michele Chorpening to the Nominating Committee. Cheryl and Robbin were voted by church to be on it also.
Vickie mentioned we need a Nursery Director. Motion to close nominations and seconded by Carol. No discussion
Karen Moore made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Cheryl Jones.
