Business Meeting

February 18, 2018


Due to weather conditions, we were unable to have a meeting in January.

There were 13 present plus Pastor James.    We broke into small groups for prayer.

Carol Firestone made a motion to accept the minutes; Darron Locke made a second.  Passed.  Marie Mead made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report; Darron made a second.  Passed.


Old Business:

Jennifer Delp painted the nursery doors.  John Mead has another hinge pin for the door.

Committee Reports:

Trustees:  In December we put lights on the building for Christmas.  Fixed the mower deck on rider.  In January took down the Christmas lights.        Lyle Jones

Deacons:  In December we met four times on Sunday morning to pray for the Pastor and met once for regular monthly meeting.  In January we met three times on Sunday morning to pray for the pastor.  We helped one person with gasoline and helped one person with a light bill.    Lyle Jones

Audio Visual:  No activity to report for December or January.      John Stewart

Fellowship:  No report

Music:  No report

Kitchen:  We had a fellowship dinner on December 17th.  We had a fellowship dinner on January 21st.      Carol Firestone

Historian:  No activity during December or January.    Carol Firestone

Floral:  We decorated the church for Christmas on December 2nd.  Christmas decorations were taken down January 8th.     Carol Firestone


Constitution & By-Laws:  There was no activity to report.     John Stewart

Evangelism:  No report

Visitation:  No report

Ushers:  December had 4 weeks with a total of 118; average 30.  Visitors total 8; average 2.  January had 4 weeks with a total of 120 with an average of 30; no visitors.     John Mead

Baptism:  No report

Children’s ministry:  No report

Nominating:  No activity to report

Sunday School:  35 members.  Average was 18 members & 1 visitor in December and average of 20 members and 1 visitor in January.    Darron Locke

New Business:

Marie Mead had asked about church security.  Darron mentioned he and John Stewart had talked about getting a safety team together.  John had attended a seminar regarding this.  More information at a later date.

Pastor mentioned that he had brought up at the council meeting about buying a van for the church in the future.  Lyle Jones mentioned Dorothy Dille said she had $3,000 in the youth fund to use toward a van.

Michele Clary has volunteered to be an assistant to the Sunday School Director.

Darron made a motion to adjourn; Hazel seconded.  Adjourned
