Karen has some people interested in doing music for the worship service. Should they be members? How is their spiritual condition? Some discussion. Dorothy thought they should be members. Pastor James suggested perhaps we should table this and pray. We certainly don’t want people to “perform”. He assured Karen that he was at her disposal. John Stewart suggested Karen screen the songs to be sung. Some discussion on singing is to worship God.
Karen brought up a ministry to addicts. Michele mentioned there is a recovery organization. Pastor asked, “What does God want? We don’t need to do a lot of things, we need to do a few things well.”
Floy Beard asked if there had been an assessment on a weekend VBS. Pastor mentioned this would be discussed at the next church council meeting.
Carol asked about chicken for the fellowship dinner.
Dyan asked if we wanted to continue with the Girl Scouts using our facilities next year. Pastor said he would like us to. Discussed giving the leader a key so Dyan wouldn’t have to continue to unlock and lock for them.
Darron Locke made a motion to adjourn. Seconded by all.
Respectfully submitted,
Dyan Dunsworth
Clerk
