Business Meeting

Eleven people plus Pastor James Butterfield were present. We sang two hymns and Pastor James opened in prayer.
Lyle Jones made a motion to accept the minutes and Floy Beard made a second. Passed
Regarding the Treasurer’s report. Bradley Davis mention the Designated Funds Sheet should show April, 2017 not February. Also, a love offering that was received the last Sunday got posted in the wrong month so the balance should be $9,369.94. Pastor asked about the electric; the baseboard heater in the prayer room off the main foyer was on. Dyan made motion to accept Treasurer’s report, Cheryl Jones seconded. Passed
Committee Reports:
Trustees: Have started mowing the grass. There is a sign-up sheet on bulletin board, if anyone would like to take a turn. Lyle Jones
Deacons: We had 4 Sunday morning prayer, one deacon’s meeting. We helped one person with gas money. Lyle Jones
Audio/Visual: Big TV downstairs is not working; did get the smaller one working. John Stewart
Fellowship: April 7 & 8, 2017 there was a WMU Seminar at Lebanon , MO. Karen Moore, Dorothy Dille, Cheryl Jones, Liz Irwin and Jenny Riggs attended. It was a great time and learned a lot about WMU and the Missouri Baptist Home. After the fellowship dinner on Ap[ril 2, we had a temperament study. Thursday, April 13th, WMU invited the church to help fill Easter eggs for the hunt. Easter morning was the sunrise service, breakfast, Easter egg Hunt for the kids then our regular worship service. Music: There were four Sundays to worship. April 9th there was a piano special by Pastor James. April 30th Earl Bellamy led the worship service, as Karen was out of town.

Kitchen: Fellowship dinner April 2nd, followed by the temperament study. Carol Firestone

Historian: Collected some articles and need to file in albums. Carol Firestone
Nominating: As Vickie was absent, John Stewart made a motion to postpone nominations until the next business meeting. Dyan made a second. Passed
Telephone: There were two calls in April. Dyan Dunsworth
Constitution/Bylaws: No activity to report. John Stewart
Sunday School: No report
Ushers: No report
Baptism: There were no baptisms. Brad Davis
Evangelism: No report
Visitation: No report
Old Business:
Dyan mentioned that Co-Mo connect internet is scheduled to be turned on 5/24/2017.
Lyle Jones promised to fix the shack pizza warmer.
New Business:
Dyan mentioned letter of transfer received for the Scott Fahrer family. Bradley made a motion to accept the letter; Hazel Stewart seconded. Passed
Dyan made a motion to send a donation of $25 to Our Daily Bread, who supplies quarterly devotional booklets. Lyle seconded; passed.
Lyle made a motion to postpone Deacon Recommendations till next month. Cheryl made a second. Passed
Carol mentioned we need workers @ the Hillbilly Fair. $135 is required to the city of Laurie . John asked what did Susan Huff specifically say about selling. Pastor James asked if John, Lyle and Brad would work on the sale of the shack.
Bradley Davis made a motion to accept Karen Moore as Assistant Treasurer; Carol seconded. Passed
Church Council suggested we don’t pay the annual fee of $99 to AWANA. Passed
Pastor James asked if we could change “The Friendliest Church in Town” to “Serving the God of Second Chances”. (under the picture on the front of the bulletin) John made a motion; Lyle made a second. Passed
Hazel made a motion to adjourn; Lyle made a second. All agreed
