Business Meeting Minutes for January 12, 2014

There were 22 members present. Pastor Marc read in Romans 8, and opened us in prayer. Richard Hackathorn made the motion to accept the minutes as written, and Lyle Jones seconded it, voted on and passed. 
Hazel Stewart made the motion to accept the treasures report, and seconded by June Hackathorn.
Pam Hutcheson read a letter from Franklin Graham, the Operation Christmas Child, on helping out with the shoe boxes, and that there was 1,000,000 shoe boxes went out! Praise The Lord! Pam also read a letter from Missouri Baptist Convention, the cooperative program. Pastor Marc played a recording from his cell phone from Franklin Grahams office thanking us for the shoe boxes. 

Old Business:

Lyle said that the fan was bought for the kitchen, and the next couple to weekends it will be put in.
Pastor Marc mentioned that the parking blocks needed to be moved back into place, the blocks got moved when the parking lot was snow plowed.


Budget & Finance Report: no report
Nominating Committee: there was only one committee chairman to get back on the committee members, thats the youth committee.
Fellowship: December 15th had fellowship dinner.
Constitution & Bylaws: the committee had no business and did not meet in December. There are two empty positions on the committee, if anyone is interested.
Deacon's Report: the deacons met for five Sunday morning prayers and had a regular Deacon's meeting in December. We also met on five Tuesday mornings for share and prayer time. 
We have to put together and have kicked off the Deacon Family Ministry Plan which will have each deacon ministering to certain number of families in the church. This will assist the Pastor in meeting the needs of church family and promote more interaction between the deacons and the members.You have or you will soon be contacted personally by your deacon. Feedback to your deacon, your chairman of deacons, the Pastor will be appreciated. 
Baptism: 0 for the month.
Evangelism & Missions: no report
Nursery: there were five Sundays; total of 10 kids; Average of 2 kids each Sunday.
Historical: finished working on 2012, and now going to start on 2013.
Floral & Decorations: took down Christmas decorations on December 31st.
Prayer Chain: 26 called, it cost us 1452 credits.
Visitation: no report
Music: no report
Youth: 12 youth and 3 adults attended a youth rally at First Baptist Church in Camdenton on January 25th, 2014.
57 Track and Journey attended Awana's during January.
Going to finish the wall in the youth room.
Media: no report
Audio & Visual: no report
Kitchen: had a fellowship dinner December 15th.
Usher: no service January 5th, 2014

Sunday School:no report
Melinda Teague wrote a letter giving her resignation as a Sunday School Director effective December 18th, 2013. She would like to extent her gratitude and appreciation in allowing her to serve for this short period of time.

New Business:

Lyle Jones said that Millie Bebermeyer had Less Anderson help clean the pews, and that we should send him a thank you card. Less Anderson didn't charge the church.
Cheryl Jones mentions that church camp is coming up, and was going to have a fund raiser breakfast, with french toast, and quiche to raise money for the kids that want to go to camp, that are not able to afford it.
Pam Hutcheson mentions that we are going to organize and paint the office on 2nd of February. 
Robbin Snyder mentions the video's for children's church, trying to get people together to help out, and if there is enough people to help, they would only have to help out once or twice a year. The Buck Denver is $800 for a year. Its for grades 1st-5th, but mainly for 4th-5th. The Faith Case a Jesus Story is $130 for 10 weeks for the grade school, and for preschool is $80 for 44 weeks. Robbin said she will give an update on the progress. 
Pam Hutcheson said that we have $50 a month for the children church, and have money in the Hill Billy shack fund if we need to use it for Sunday school.
Everyone agreed on for Robbin Snyder to go ahead and order the the Faith Case for the children's church.
Annette Knapp mentions the Valentine Banquet, we are going to have it at the Stables, net to Smoke Salon. We Would like to have Wendy from Main Street Music Hall come and sing for us. It would cost $13 a person but to include for Wendy it would cost $20 a person, to offset the cost for her. We will have a sitter at the Church for the children if needed.
Annette Knapp discussed about VBS and the date. The kick off June 22nd and VBS starts June 23rd-27th. Theme is detective/spy.
John Stewart said he is trying to keep with the website up to date, and try to keep up with photos and if anyone had any to share.
Pastor Marc said that we need prayer around our church, need to make a sacrifice and meet together and have prayer meeting, meet on every Thursday at 6:30 pm.
Also we are going to have a Easter Cantata on April 20th this year, instead of the play. So let me know who wants to be in it.
